Steffanie Edwins

Biography

Steffanie Edwins is a Swedish-based poet and essayist, with a particular interest in folklore, literary history, old texts, and the strange ways stories survive their tellers.

Her work has appeared or is forthcoming in seven literary publications including Rivener Literary, US Catholic magazine, London Review, Scientific America. She is also the poetry editor of Lore Lorn, a literary magazine devoted to folklore, legend, oral tradition, and the stories people inherit, alter, misremember, and pass on.

Edwins has an MA background in Gaelic Literature at the University College Cork, an interest that sits comfortably beside her longstanding fascination with early literature, mythology, manuscripts, and the afterlives of old stories. Her writing ranges from the historical and critical to the macabre, devotionals, and occasionally horror.

When not writing, she can be found skating at ice rinks, in a library, or simply sharing a romaine lettuce with her rabbit, Oliver.
